How the math works
The five inputs, and why the inquiry rate matters most
Your website revenue is a chain: visitors become inquiries, inquiries become customers, and each customer is worth an average job. Traffic gets the attention, but the inquiry rate — the share of visitors who actually reach out — is usually where local sites lose the most. Doubling a 2% inquiry rate to 4% doubles the inquiries from the exact same traffic.
- Monthly visitors
How many people reach your site in a month. More traffic only helps if visitors have a clear reason and an easy way to contact you.
- Current inquiry rate
The share of those visitors who call, text, message, or submit a form. For local service sites this is often 1–2%.
- Average job value
Typical revenue from one completed job. This turns extra inquiries into dollars, so it drives the size of the gap.
- Close rate
How often an inquiry becomes a paying customer. A strong close rate means every missed inquiry costs real money.
- Target inquiry rate
A realistic rate after clearer messaging, faster load, and obvious contact options. The gap between current and target is the opportunity.
| 500 visitors × 2% current inquiry rate | 10 inquiries |
| 10 inquiries × 30% close rate × $750 | $2,250 / mo now |
| 500 visitors × 4% target inquiry rate | 20 inquiries |
| 20 inquiries × 30% close rate × $750 | $4,500 / mo |
| Modeled gap per year (($4,500 − $2,250) × 12) | $27,000 |
These figures are illustrative. Your real results depend on your traffic, offer, market, and follow-up. This is an estimate, not a promise.

Questions before you trust the number
How accurate is this?
It is a model, not a measurement. It multiplies the numbers you enter to show the size of the opportunity if your inquiry rate improved. Real outcomes depend on your traffic quality, offer, pricing, market, and how quickly you follow up. Treat it as a planning estimate, never a guarantee of income.
What counts as an "inquiry"?
Any real contact from a potential customer: a phone call, text, form submission, chat message, or booking request. It does not mean a sale — that is what the close rate accounts for.
Where do I find my visitor numbers?
Most hosting dashboards, Google Analytics, or your website builder report monthly visitors or sessions. If you truly do not know, start with an honest estimate; you can adjust the inputs and watch the result update live.
Is any of my data stored or sent anywhere?
No. Every calculation runs in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing you type is saved, transmitted, or tracked. Close the tab and it is gone.
